Often organizational
leaders feel isolated and are reluctant to share their inner-most
concerns for fear of being viewed as weak, unprepared or unskilled.
Whereas coaching was once viewed by many as a tool to help correct
underperformance, today it is becoming much more widely used
in supporting top producers. According to recent research, a
significant number of organizations use coaching to sharpen
the skills of those who have been identified as future leaders.
Executive coaching supports the individual in making lasting
changes.
Dr.
Brennan’s many years of experience in leadership and management
roles and in organizational training allow him to help clients
recognize and utilize their strengths and also to understand
how their own preconditioning, perceptions, beliefs and assumptions
can get in the way of working effectively with others. To facilitate
this understanding, he utilizes methods such as feedback, action
planning, active learning and follow-up into the day-to-day
activities of the client’s work life. His approaches are
outcome focused and deliver short-term improvements as well
as sustained long-term benefits to individuals and the business.
Dr.
Brennan tailors his coaching methodology to meet the needs of
each individual client. This includes one-on-one, in person,
over the telephone or e-mail, or a combination thereof. Communications
are completely confidential giving the client an opportunity
to share personal concerns while gaining an outside perspective.
For best results, the typical meeting schedule includes three
or more client meetings per month for a minimum period of six
months.
